The Boring Part

As the title states, this part of construction is not my favorite part. It feels like nothing is happening, but in actuality there is a lot going on "behind the scenes." A couple of note worthy items that can't be photographed...

1. We had to have a temporary power pole installed in the back yard to have something for the guys to plug their tools into. It took forever for Duke Power to connect it, but they finally did.

2. We have someone under the house working on additional piers to hold the place up. It is important.

3. All of the sub contractors are getting their rough-ins wrapped up. Once we get all of our inspections, things should speed up. It should progress quickly to insulation, dry wall, shingles, and siding from there. I'm excited for that part.

Until all of that, here are some pics...

1.) This is a shot of the ceiling that shows some of the recessed cans.

2.) Here's the tub that the plumber needed for his rough in. It's cast iron so very tricky to get to the bathroom on the second floor.
3.) The location of the half wall shows where the island will be. The cased opening around the kitchen shrunk about a foot which will turn out to be fine.

4.) The stairs are getting a little style. Here's the latest design. We like it.

5.) It has been requested that we show some pictures of guest rooms. Here is one guest room. If you're looking at the outside of the house, this room is in the front in the large dormer above the front porch. From these windows, we can catch a glimpse of the Charlotte skyline. It's better in the winter, but we can still see it a little through all of the big trees.
